Twelve Ways to Live a Life in Balance

by Prashanti de Jager Ó2012

We can try to be balanced all we want and do things like eat better and exercise, ‘not sweat the small stuff,’ and get sleep.  It is one thing to take all the things that you are actually doing, like eating and sleeping, and then try to do them in a healthier more balanced way.  But then what about all those things that are a part of life, just not really a part of your life.  How to keep track of those, much less remain balanced in those arenas?

The Earth Charter

by Prashanti de Jager Ó2011-2012

When it comes to taste, kids might not be able to decide which is the best cereal, and French aficionados, in the throes of their bottle shock, may debate that Napa’s vintages are nonpareil; and when it comes to power struggles a Democrat seldom agrees with a Republican, and Tribals seldom agree with Corporations; but when it comes to the path of creating Global Sustainability for all Beings in all ‘Communities,’ we do have a consensus, in fact, we have the most vetted document ever in human History, we have the EARTH CHARTER.

The Dunagiri Foundation is so pleased to be working with HIMCON, Himalayan Corsortium for Himalayan Conservation.  Our colleagues there have proven to be experts in the field of tree nursery work.  We share a common vigor to preserve native species, especially one with such historical and spiritual significance such as Tejbal.  Our Project has been going for more than two years, and our test site to prove the ability to propogate this tree is so far successful.

As of December 2012, The Dunagiri Foundation's flagship fundraising Center, Samata Holistic Retreat Center in Goa is open!!!  This season is a soft opening for us, as we are focused on training staff, organizing management systems, and getting ready to receive groups from overseas.  Please visit Samatagoa.com to see our gallery of images, information on booking, and the other programs that we are providing.  It is our hope that Samata will be a backbone of funding for Dunagiri projects, so that we do not have to rely on pure donation, grants, or government funds.
