Jatamansi

Jatamanasi
Scientific Name: Nardostachys Jatamansi
Local Name/s: Jatamansi, Marsi,

When you read of Nard in the Odyssey and Iliad, or the Nard that was Cleopatra's favorite substance, or the Nard in the song of Solomon, or the expensive Nard oil that was used to wash Jesus's feet, you are reading about the legendary Jatamansi.  As a type of Valerian, it tends to calm the bodymind, but unlike Valerian it does not calm by sedation, but rather by illumination and restoration, making it a fantastic ally for anyone who would like to enpower and vivify all their cognitive functions.  Jatamansi also has an affinity for female reproductive tissue and function.
